The twisting of truth and reality to suit their political agenda is so upsetting. The fact that so many people still believe this is even more disconcerting. Thank you for sharing the accurate information.
I fucking hate Trump and his administration of twats. He’s like a Yellowjacket trying to sting and sting and sting some more. And there’s many people stuck on stupid that love what he’s doing. I’m sick of this crap. I want to scream. I’m scared for my autistic son. I’m sick of action not being taken against him. There’s only rallies, speeches, and polite protests. Articles of impeachment that won’t mean shit. Nothing worthwhile is happening. I’m so damn tired. I’m exhausted.
Darcy, I hear your frustration and I agree that things are awful and likely to get worse. I see our role, as educated caring human beings, to be using whatever energy we have to contribute to the pushback against this evil. We go to rallies with our signs, we write letters and make calls, we participate in local resistance groups, we let our voices be heard every time we can, we fill food pantries, we give money to those who need it. It may not be much but together it is something bigger.
These cuts are devastating. Having worked in the 0-5 population, I know so many families that will feel the impacts of some of the programs being eliminated.
And my management wonders why I'm burned out. I saw this coming as soon as the election was announced.
I'm a nurse on a high acuity needs floor with my own set of chronic illnesses. Nearly every line of this directly affects me or my patients–many of whom are uninsured or on Medicare/Medicaid. I'm terrified. I don't want to be vindicated. I want better for my patients. I'm tired of being able to accurately guess the color of my patients' skin based off their medical history.
I managed a harm reduction program… we couldn’t buy needles with federal money ever… not even to go with out IM naloxone funded by SAMHSA. The smoking supplies thing was of course just a political shock and awe campaign.
So then what are we paying for. If it’s not to lower costs of products, healthcare access, or education, where tf is my money going to? Do we stop paying taxes like what do we do
I suggest get to your nearest resistance group: Indivisible, 50501, Democracy Now, Vote Vets, any group near you that is active in resisting this evil. Your one voice will combine with thousands of others to make a difference. It will take time but we must do what we can when we can or simply live with the results of our inaction.
Dr. Rubin, I am writing a short educational program for our local Indivisible group as part of a Teach Truth presentation. The point of the presentation is to show what has disappeared or been lost with the current administration. You so perfectly lay out the extreme dangers inherent in the changes at HHS. I thank you for that.
Thank you so much for this in-depth analysis. It is terrifying what this administration is doing. Make America Healthy Again is such a scam.

Thank you. I think it is both a public health and public safety issue.
What a mess. Thank you for breaking this down for us. As a woman, 60yo, with severe/chronic health conditions, these changes are terrifying to me!

How do people not see that environment and public health are literally the only 2 fields required for our survival
